Dr. Doug McIntosh is the senior pastor of Cornerstone Bible Church in Lilburn, Georgia, and a long-time advocate for Bible translation. “I think the first time I heard much about Bible translation was at Dallas Seminary,” said McIntosh. “One of my classmates had it in his mind from the beginning to become a Wycliffe translator. So he would periodically share with his classmates what this was all about. Then in the early 1970s, Harold Goodall (a translator in Peru) became a member of our church board. He was always a champion of Bible translation wherever he was.”
McIntosh co-founded Cornerstone Bible Church more than 30 years ago, shortly after graduating from seminary. He holds three degrees: a doctor of ministry in church management from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, a master's of theology in Semitic languages and Old Testament exegesis from Dallas Theological Seminary, and a bachelor of arts in economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.
In addition to his commitment to Cornerstone Bible Church and the Wycliffe board, McIntosh has found time to author five books: God Up Close, Life’s Greatest Journey, The War Within You, The Golden Rule: Love Full Circle, and Deuteronomy (the third volume of the Holman Old Testament Commentaries). He also served as an instructor at both the Carver Bible Institute and College and the Columbia Bible College and Seminary.
McIntosh and his wife, Cheryl, are the parents of three adult children and reside in Lilburn, Georgia.
