Les Kline graduated from John Brown University in 1969 with a bachelor’s degree in radio broadcasting. In 2005 he was honored to be selected as John Brown University’s Outstanding Alumni of the year. After serving as director of admissions at John Brown University, Les headed to Florida where he worked in radio sales management, covering Florida, Alabama and Iowa.
In 1976, Les and his wife Mary joined World Vision as artist associates. For five years they lived and traveled on the road as staff musicians. Following that time, Les filled other positions with World Vision, serving as a Major Gift Representative, as the Eastern Regional Manager, and finally as the Vice President of Development. During these years he was able to build a national leadership and development team.
January 2006 opened a new door for Les at Wycliffe Bible Translators. Sensing God calling him to Wycliffe, Les reflect on his worldwide travel experiences with World Vision and imagined millions of God’s children—AIDS orphans in Africa, homeless kids in Brazil, and hungry subsistence farmers in Asia—all still awaiting God’s Word in their heart language. The decision was an easy one!
Les’ role as Vice President for Advancement affords him the opportunity to bring his 25 years of fund raising and management experience to Wycliffe USA’s Orlando-based office, while spending quality time with his wife, four sons and grandchildren.
