Non-cash gifts benefit Bible translation projects

Non-cash gifts (also called gifts in kind) benefit Bible translation projects two ways: some of the donated items are sold, with the proceeds going to support field programs in progress and start new ones, and others are shipped directly to field teams for their use.

1. Donated Items Sold to Support Strategic Bible Translation Projects

Find a worthwhile home for your unused but valuable items. The donation process is easy:

    • Visit Wycliffe’s section on the iDonate.com webpage, identify your gift and complete the "Donation Proposal Form." iDonate.com is an organization that specializes in non-cash gift programs for non-profit organizations.
    • iDonate.com will provide instructions for the transfer of your gift, provide you with a receipt, find a buyer for the item and allocate proceeds to Wycliffe.
    • For more information please call 1-877-89-SHARE to speak to Wycliffe's representative at iDonate.com.

2. Specific Items Needed Immediately

    • Solar panels are needed to provide power for translation teams in remote areas.
      • Requirements: 12 volt, 65 or 85 watt, model numbers KC 65T or Unisolar US 64
    • New and used laptop computers are needed in a variety of field projects.
      • Requirements: Pentium 4, 1.4 GHz, 512 MB of ram, CD-RW/CD ROM, 80 GB Hard drive
      • Toshiba preferred

If you would like more information about donating a “needed item” please contact:

Jack Clifford at 1-800-WYCLIFFE (1-800-992-5433), extension 3894 or 407-852-3894. Or email him at gift_in_kind_orlando@wycliffe.org.

The ministry of Bible translation is built on partnership! Consider sharing these needs with your church’s small group, school class, neighbors, family or friends. To email the info, use the “Email this page” feature below.

Together you can provide urgently needed items for Bible translation projects.
