God Answers Before We Call

The Vasui New Testament was dedicated in August 2005. A Vasui Scripture Application and Leadership Training course* was held in March 2006.  In preparation for the course, the SALT team leader e-mailed the translators asking how many copies of the course booklet he should print.

No one was sure how many participants to expect. One translator suggested 20, and after discussion it was decided to print 25 copies. However, by the time the team leader received the message, he had already printed 65 copies. He didn’t know what to do with all the extra booklets, so he decided to take 60 of them to the village anyway.

To the SALT team’s surprise 46 people came on the first day of the course, and 11 were added the next, making a total of 57 participants. God really does answer before we call (Isaiah 65:24)!  

*SALT is a two-week intensive Scripture application course that equips church leaders to use their vernacular Scriptures effectively.
