Testimony of a Trauma Healing Workshop Participant:
It is true that my country is passing through a traumatic experience of war now, but what comforts me and gives me strength is that God is still the Master, and He is still sovereign.
The Lord says in Roman 8:28:
"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them" (NLT).
So, strengthened by His Word, I had the opportunity to come to this workshop on trauma. The lessons were very well chosen. The one on the three villages of grief especially touched me and did me good. It is a very good illustration because this confirmed that my reactions to trauma are normal. We were told that a person moves from Village 1, the village of denial and anger, to Village 2, the village of no hope (despair), to Village 3, the village of new beginnings.
When I get back to my country I plan to do a workshop with the pastors' wives of my denomination. I will be willing to do it for other denominations that ask as well. I will do this in Abidjan because I cannot return to my home region because it is in the war zone.
I ask that you pray that God will send His Spirit of peace on my country. Pray also for the work of Bible translation in this country.
With sisterly greetings in Christ,
Lucie G.
