African American History in the Making

On Saturday, April 19, 2008, history will be made…twice.

Not only will Wycliffe celebrate the completed translation of the New Testament and Genesis in the Kagayanen language of the Philippines, but we will also celebrate a historic landmark—the first New Testament completed with the cross-cultural guidance of an African American woman—Jacqueline Huggins.

Dr. Tony Evans, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship of Dallas, Texas, will join Wycliffe and the Kagayanen people at this historic event.

We invite you to join us too!

Kagayanen Vision Trip 2008

April 14-23

Wycliffe personnel with years of overseas living and travel experience will host you on this once-in-a-lifetime trip April 14-23.

While in Puerto Princesa

While many Bible translation projects are located in remote areas, the Kagayanen New Testament will be celebrated in Puerto Princesa—a city of more than 150,000 residents. In addition to the dedication, if you're a pastor, you'll have the opportunity to attend a local pastor’s summit while others engage in different ministry opportunities. jeepnee-sm.jpg

Going Through Manila

Our itinerary will also take us through Manila, the capital of the Philippines. This metro area is far larger than Puerto Princesa and may provide the chance to visit a historic site or shop at one of the city’s world-class malls.

Throughout the trip, you'll appreciate the beauty of Filipino art and architecture, as well as the cultural diversity and friendly hospitality of its people.
