A Call to Action

These remaining language communities are located in countries with high birthrates. That means millions of additional lives, will be touched over several generations, with the gospel.

Sadly, the mortality rate indicates 2.4 million people in these communities will die each year without hearing or reading God’s Word. Over the next 20 years, 50 million people may pass into eternity without having a chance to read a single Bible verse in a language that speaks to the deepest part of their being.

The three-part enterprise of worldwide evangelism, church planting and disciple-making rests on this first step of translating God’s Word into a heart language.

“Wycliffe holds the keys to thousands of doors. We and many other international ministries are waiting to see each one opened, so that the Gospel of Jesus Christ might rush in.”—Stephen Douglass, President of Campus Crusade for Christ International

Man and woman who have just recieved God's WordThere are millions and millions of lives to reach. Ministry partners are ready to do their part to build upon the foundation of these Bible translations. The need to respond to this task is urgent and clear.

Vision 2025 is not just a slogan; not just a theme. Wycliffe has a vision embracing all of God’s church. It is not a program; not a campaign. It is a covenant. It is a call to commitment. A call to urgent action.

God is calling us to a greater sense of dedication and devotion in translating His Word. He is giving us a challenging task. In many respects, breathtaking. Yet Wycliffe believes the task can be accomplished if we work under His direction in worldwide partnership with others in this generation.

Vision 2025 is within His power and our grasp. With God’s help, prayer fueled by faith, and your support, it can be accomplished.

“It is wonderful to see God raising up our people to translate His Word. We try to train them well and let the Word challenge and change their lives. When they return home, others are changed through Bible translation. I praise God that He is using me to help other groups have His Word in their language.”
