Wycliffe’s family of organizations will conduct a 10-year Last Languages Campaign to raise more than $1 billion in gifts and pledges. With the powerful help and support of all Christians who wish to bring God’s Word to the unreached language communities, Wycliffe seeks to raise all the funds needed for new language translations by 2018. We will engage current donors and new friends, raise awareness about the need for Bible translation, bring volunteers and their expertise to the task, and cultivate prayer for translation and literacy work. This is our resolve.
So much depends on the work of Bible translation: Bible schools and seminaries wait. Church-planting ministries wait. The world waits. Millions now living and millions soon to be born…wait.
Jesus speaks to us. In Matthew’s Gospel He says that this good news must first be preached to the whole world. Reaching the last languages may be the key that unlocks the divine plan for reconciling the world to God, culminating in the return of Christ.
We are in the final chapters of a 2000-year continuous global translation movement to bring God’s Word to every language community, touching every heart.
