GUATEMALA 
3 weeks, June 7– June 26; Ages: 15-23; Cost: ~$2000
Guatemala, “The land of eternal spring” is rich with beauty, history and cultural diversity. This team will witness the birthplace of the modern Bible translation movement and the impact it has had upon this country.
- The trip starts with a 5-day orientation in Orlando. FL that addresses the urgent need of God’s Word among minority languages and the process of making it available to them.
- The team will fly from Orlando to Guatemala City, where they will begin to encounter Mayan culture, study a Mayan language (K’anjob’al) and experience the diversity of Mayan and Latin cultures in the capital city.
- From there the team will travel to Huehuetenango, where they will learn from veteran missionaries, Arvid and Nancy Westfall, how God’s Word in the language of the people is transforming individuals and entire communities.
- Next at San Miguel Acata'n, they'll stay in the homes of K'anjob'al families--working, visiting, and eating with them. The team will continue to learn and use K'anjob'al as they interact day-to-day with the K'anjob'al people.
- Finally, they'll visit the Zaculeo ruins and Lake Atitlan, where Wycliffe founder, William Cameron Townsend, worked among the Cakchiquels so that they too could have God’s Word in their heart language.

PAPUA NEW GUINEA - WEST NEW BRITAIN
Dates: 3 weeks from June 20 – July 11, Ages: 15-23, Cost: ~$4000
West New Britain embodies what Jesus had in mind when he commissioned those to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. This trip will offer an authentic experience of the lifestyle and skills required by those called to the work of translating the Bible.
- The trip starts in Idyllwild, California (near Los Angeles), where the team will be challenged by needs and opportunities involved in reaching the last languages in the world with God’s Word.
- The team will fly out of Los Angeles to eventually arrive on the luscious green island of New Britain. You will then drive deep into the tropical jungle to Lavege village where you will meet the Mangseng people.
- Participants will immediately dive into language and culture learning as they study with an indigenous language helper and rub elbows with veteran translators, Lloyd & Ruth Milligan, who spent 18 years among the Mangseng.
- You will personally witness the Mangseng Bible being used in their homes and churches as you live and interact with this remarkable people.
- This team will also have the unique opportunity of travelling and showing the Jesus video across the Mangseng language group. Be prepared for an adventure!

PAPUA NEW GUINEA - UKARUMPA
Dates: 3 weeks from June 20 – July 11, Ages: 15-23 Cost: ~$4000
Dense rainforests, rugged terrain and over 800 distinct languages make Papua New Guinea one of the greatest remaining challenges to the Bible translation movement. Such a challenge calls for a great team of individuals with a range of skills working together for a common purpose. Participants on this trip will see how each of their gifts and abilities can be used to in spreading God’s Word to the ends of the earth.
- Starting with a 5-day orientation in Idyllwild, California (near Los Angeles), the team will learn about the process Bible translation and be challenged to join the task of reaching the last languages in the world with God’s Word.
- After flying out of Los Angeles (and half-way around the globe) the team will eventually land on an airstrip in Ukarumpa, Papua New Guinea, which is a hub for approximately one thousand missionaries working in the area.
- The team will see the wide range of skills needed on the mission field. Some of these roles include teachers, pilots, mechanics, IT professionals, construction workers, business professionals and medical workers.
- Next, the team is off to a nearby village, where they will witness how God’s Word in the heart language of a people is transforming lives. A portion of this time will also be spent engaging in language and culture learning activities
- Former Papua New Guinea missionaries, Chuck and Barb Micheals will be the leaders of this trip. Chuck, now the VP of Recruitment for Wycliffe USA, has a passion for engaging and equipping future leaders of Bible translation.
