FAQ

Family standing togetherDoes your lifestyle reflect a commitment to personal purity?

In order to begin application with Wycliffe, freedom from pornography use and sexual impurity is expected for at least the last 12 months.

Personal holiness is extremely important in a walk with the Lord. We want to make sure God’s Spirit is being allowed to build self-control in this area of life. When God’s forgiveness and cleansing are truly experienced, one can become clean and pure before Him—and be committed to remain celibate until marriage as He has designed.

Escape Immorality

Pornography is dangerous and destructive, no matter where it is found. Just as the Internet has eased the task of research and information delivery, it has also spread the availability and ease of pornography's entry into the home. The computer is obviously not to blame for the temptation and lure of this sinful pastime; however, the expansion of pornography’s availability is impacting Christians and non-Christians alike as never before. Many ministries now provide resources for those struggling with pornography and other sexual sins, both online and in the "real world."

These resources basically fall into three categories:

  • Bible studies and teaching resources. A great example is Focus on the Family’s Pure Intimacy.
  • Web blocker software. One example that integrates with personal accountability is Covenant Eyes.
  • Books. There are dozens of great books that reflect on intimacy, sexual purity and healthy relationships.

We encourage taking advantage of these resources and becoming accountable to another person. This battle does not need to be fought alone. We want to see everyone victorious and free.
