FAQ

Have you been through a divorce?

If you've been through a divorce, let's talk about it.  Depending on the circumstances, you may be eligible for membership.

wedding ring on a Bible

Wycliffe is committed to the preservation and sanctity of marriage. However, we realize that life often takes unexpected or undesired turns. We are not trying to judge, but we wish to do all we can to ensure that prospective members are spiritually and emotionally strong and healthy. Experience shows that living and working cross-culturally is stressful, and past wounds may impact the possibility of successful long-term service. Therefore we will want to talk about any divorce to verify there’s nothing that could hamper service, and that a given divorce falls within the policy of Wycliffe USA.

Help is Available

Interested in some additional help? A book that might be a good resource for someone in a difficult relationship is The DNA of Relationships by Dr. Gary Smalley, Tyndale House Publishers, 2004. You can also talk with us.
