Serving with Wycliffe USA is a second career for Brett Shideler after he spent 16 years as a firefighter in Loveland, Colorado. In 1993 the call to missions took Brett, his wife, Marla, and their children to Cameroon, Africa, where they served Bible translation in children's education. In 2007 the Shidelers returned to the U.S. with assignments at Dallas International University in Dallas, Texas.
In 2012 the Shidelers started assignments in Human Resources with Wycliffe USA's Ministry and Care Resources Group. Brett served in a variety of roles, including Resource Coordinator, Associate Director and Director of Care Team, then Senior Director of Ministry and Care Resources Group.
As vice president for Staff Care and Resources, Brett supports nine teams that provide member care and meet many of the human resources administrative needs of Wycliffe USA members. Brett is passionate about building a network of teams that use good member care practices in administrative support of Wycliffe members.
Brett and Marla have four adult children, three daughters-in-law and five grandchildren. Brett enjoys snow skiing, sailing and exploring the great outdoors around his home in the Pacific Northwest.
