Wycliffe’s Gift Catalog is a wonderful way to share the joy of the gospel with people around the world! Many are still waiting for the message of hope in God’s Word. What better way to show the true meaning of Christmas than to give a gift that will last for eternity?
Here are just a few ways to share joy with your family and friends through Wycliffe’s Gift Catalog:
1. Family giving.
Christmas holidays are a perfect time to share about the importance of God’s Word with your children or grandchildren. Read the story of the first Christmas in Luke 2, then talk about the children around the world who have never heard this story in their language.
This year the gift catalog has several projects that make it easy for children to give. Take a look at the opportunity to provide a Bible to people in Sudan or the Gospel of Mark to communities in Tanzania. Your family may also be interested in giving toward Bible story DVDs for Deaf children in Honduras. And you can download our coloring sheet as a fun activity for kids.
2. Small group giving.
A group gift is a wonderful way to involve your Sunday school class or life group! Start a conversation about what God is doing to bring his Word to people, then choose a project together — such as providing audio Scripture in a hard to access area of the world. This makes a fun alternative to a traditional gift exchange at Christmas parties.
3. Church giving.
We hear stories like this one about churches that choose a catalog gift and collect money all through December to celebrate the joy of sharing Christ. If your church chooses a gift, let us know by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org!
4. Your giving!
Don’t forget your individual gift. It’s time to celebrate joy and celebrate Christ through giving his Word of reconciliation.
However you choose to use the gift catalog, each gift given will make a difference in the lives of those that receive translated Scripture in their own language. Thank you for your partnership in Bible translation! May your Christmas season be filled with the joy of giving and with the true joy found in Jesus Christ!
