From Silicon Valley to Missions: How One Techie Found His Home in Bible Translation
After 15 years in software development and working for a startup in Silicon Valley that got acquired by a large enterprise, Phillip Shipley was ready for a change. Frustrated with corporate politics, Phillip felt like there must be another way he could serve God while using his technology experience. Little did Phillip know that he would be the answer to someone’s prayers far away!
Now Phillip serves as the director of IT software engineering for SIL International, a primary strategic partner. Since entering missions work, Phillip has been able to increase his skills beyond what was possible at a corporation, and find greater fulfillment and joy in his work.
Come hear how God led Phillip to join the Bible translation movement and discover if serving with Wycliffe can be part of your journey. You may even be an answer to someone’s prayers! When: Tuesday, March 16 at 5 p.m. ET
