As Paulina* read the translation of John 3:16 in her language, she was overwhelmed by its beauty and moved to tears. 

It was the very message of hope in Jesus that her heart was longing to hear.

Paulina and her husband served together on the Tunebo Occidental Bible translation team in Colombia. They worked side by side, translating God’s Word so their community could understand the gospel.

Then tragedy struck. Her husband was killed in a motorcycle accident, leaving Paulina alone to care for their three young children.

Yet even in the midst of grief, Paulina continues to translate God’s Word so everyone in her community can know the hope of Christ that transcends the grave.

“I can hardly wait for my people to hear [God’s Word] and take it to heart as well,” she said.

God is raising up faithful translators like Paulina around the world. In Colombia, for example, translation work is underway in 30 languages — but five languages are still waiting for translation work to begin.
