Through Scripture, God provides wisdom for life, words that nourish our spirits and truth that transforms our hearts.
God’s love compels us to give everyone the opportunity to experience these blessings in a language that speaks to their hearts. That includes isolated people groups like the Rapa Nui on Easter Island, which is more than 2,000 miles off the coast of Chile.
After 24 years of translation work, the Rapa Nui New Testament was dedicated on October 13, 2018.
“We are celebrating the coming of the Word of God in Rapa Nui,” said one woman. “This translated work has been brought to us in a book, the Bible, as a gift from God.”
Another participant at the celebration told Wycliffe missionaries, “I thank God that he sent you here because if he hadn’t, we would still be in darkness. Now we have the light.”
Translation teams in many communities — some even more remote than Easter Island — are working today to translate Scripture for people who are still waiting for it.
Today you can empower these teams as they help provide people with words of life and light in a language and form they clearly understand. Through your partnership, you’ll help more people around the world celebrate God’s life-changing Word!
