Dan learned about the need for Bible Translation when he was 16. He has loved being involved with Bible Translation since 1990. Over the years, he worked in Africa as a linguist, translator, and trainer. His focus was on starting new translation projects in Central Africa.

In 2023, Dan was reassigned to Asia. He became linguistics coordinator for the work in a part of Asia. Working remotely from the USA, he helps teams study and analyze minority languages in order to be better equipped for their translation projects. He also works as an archivist to preserve linguistic data in Africa and Asia.
