Kosal is Khmer. He was raised a devout Folk Buddhist in a rice-farming village that lies near the Cambodian-Vietnam border. Tori is American. She was raised in a Christian family from a small town in Alabama. They met at a local church in Southeast Asia in 2012, while Tori was serving with Wycliffe Bible Translators as a facilitator for a chronological Bible storying project. After God united their lives together in marriage, He also blended their visions to continue serving the Bibleless people of Southeast Asia.

Today, Kosal and Tori live and work among the Bibleless by translating Scripture materials and engaging local communities with God and His Word through trauma healing ministry. Kosal is also the director of the Healing Distress Organization, a local non-profit, that was established in 2022 to legally carry out the trauma healing ministry across all provinces in Cambodia.

Like the striking contrast of their childhoods, so is the power of God’s restoration for those suffering. God invites the Kongs daily to enter the pain of others’ lives.
