What a privilege it is to walk alongside the Choctaw of Mississippi!

Laura Christel grew up in Mississippi and only learned of the presence of Choctaw in Mississippi when she attended Belhaven University. Some of these Choctaw, believers called Chihówa Annopa Toshóli – “Scripture Sharers” wrote Wycliffe asking for help with a Bible translation.

Laura Christel serves with Wycliffe as Program Coordinator for the Choctaw Bible translation. She is delighted to serve these Choctaw believers, representing all the partners who make her work possible!

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.

Launch Expense Account

Wycliffe establishes the Launch Expense Account for setup needs beyond recurring ministry and living expenses.

Examples of what these funds cover are training and orientation courses, airfare, visas, immunizations, language learning, work permits, house setup, vehicle, equipment purchases, shipping, etc.
