Ken and Marta Morton | Wycliffe Bible Translators
The Wycliffe Ministry of

Ken and Marta Morton

Why Bible Translation? To make God’s Word accessible to all people in their own language. Bible translation is foundational to every aspect of Christian ministry. It leads to evangelism, discipleship, and church planting. It transforms lives as people become followers of Christ. A Bible in the language of a believer can be life changing.

What about those who don't read? International Media Services (IMS) exists to communicate the translated message of God's love in forms that they can understand and access. The Gospel can be communicated through audio recordings, dubbed videos, storying, music, drama, and dance in the local styles. It can be as simple as telling a story using flannel graph all the way to watching a video on a cell phone.

As Director of IMS Training, Ken is involved in teaching others how to broaden the impact of Bible translations. This can be done through media that is Biblically accurate, culturally acceptable, and owned by the local people. This also includes empowering nationals with skills necessary to increase the impact of Scriptures in their own mother tongues.

With more than 4 billion oral learners in the world, non print media will play a major role in reaching them with the Good News of Jesus Christ.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to this account directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.
