Bryan and Lois work with SIL International and Wycliffe Bible Translators, with a calling to provide hope to people who speak languages that don't have translated scriptures yet. They served in South Asia for over twenty-three years where they led linguistic research and focused on a specific language group. They launched a language project that grew into a nationally-led team that initiated a literacy project and completed the New Testament in 2011. They also helped provide guidance to other language projects.

 

Since 2011, Bryan focused on Scripture Engagement, serving language communities world-wide, and then led SIL Global’s trauma healing program, equipping people to use the Scriptures to find healing for their wounded hearts through training and material development. Bryan is now doing research and material development for SIL Global to address the risks of human trafficking among minority language communities to help them find the best ways to address this modern-day slavery. He has also rejoined the translation team as they move toward completing the Old Testament. Bryan's main job is to back translate into English for consultants' use and check on the exegesis in the translation.

 

Lois works to support language programs worldwide. She facilitates the development of training, and mentoring for program leaders and managers, who act as stewards of finances and people involved in language programs. She also is part of a new health initiative in SIL Global to help provide contextualized materials for language communities.
