Ryan & Whitney Sikes | Wycliffe Bible Translators
The Wycliffe Ministry of

Ryan & Whitney Sikes

Bible Translation is essential to the task of making disciples (Matt. 28:19-20). Ryan and Whitney came to realize the importance of Bible translation after reading about the 15th century English translator, William Tyndale.

The Sikes' desire to participate in the work of Bible Translation brought them first to Southern Seminary in Louisville, KY. At seminary, Ryan came to focus his study on the Hebrew Old Testament, specifically the book of Psalms. The seminary awarded Ryan the George W. Riggan Award for Distinction in Old Testament Studies. At the end of 2019, he was invited to join the Psalms Project and, shortly thereafter, Wycliffe Bible Translators. The Sikes have one child, Nora Day (1 yr). Whitney will be taking care of Nora and their home while Ryan works on the Psalms Project.

The Psalms Project is aimed at producing resources to help translators of the Psalms. The poetry of the Psalms in the original language is beautiful and powerful. It speaks to the heart. The goal of the Psalms Project is to see these powerful poems come to life in new languages – to be read, sung, and prayed throughout the world with the same artistic beauty and emotional intensity as they were in ancient Israel.

Please prayerfully consider investing in Bible translation as a prayer and financial partner in the Sikes’ Wycliffe ministry.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.
