“The project team is committed to getting the Scriptures into the hands of the people sooner rather than later,” says an Akebu project adviser.
An Akebu translation team is already in place, and they are now working to produce 12 New Testament books! Three Gospels and many of Paul’s letters were selected in response to the needs of local churches.
These Scripture portions will help believers grow in their faith and also overcome false beliefs — a significant challenge in their community. When the Akebu people have more of God’s Word available in their language, believers will be able to learn from it and discern truth for themselves.
Translation efforts are already bearing fruit.
One Akebu pastor says that his heart is overwhelmed with joy because Christians from all denominations are getting together. He thanks God for the unity brought about by the Bible translation.
Your prayers and investment will help the Akebu people access more of God’s Word in their heart language!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
