“This translation project will help ordinary Central Auyu people understand Scripture accurately, clearly and easily,” an adviser said.
Bible translation first began among the Central Auyu people almost 10 years ago. So far, an experienced team has translated 22 New Testament books, as well as Genesis and Ruth.
During this two-year project, team members will draft Romans. They’ll also check it with a translation consultant, along with six previously completed books.
To help reach those who prefer oral communication, Genesis, the Gospel of Luke, Acts, Romans, 1-2 Timothy, 1-2 Peter and Revelation will be made available in audio format. Local church leaders specifically requested these books because they consider them foundational for understanding the gospel message.
Although much of the New Testament has already been drafted, this project will begin making portions of it widely available. And the team’s efforts will bring the New Testament one step closer to completion.
Your prayers and gifts will help Central Auyu people access more of God’s Word in their own language!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
