Donald, a Rangi speaker and safari driver in Tanzania, smiled and laughed as he listened to the audio recording of Genesis on his cellphone. This was the first time Donald had ever experienced God’s Word in his language!
“It’s so touching when I hear it in my language,” he said. “I feel so happy when I hear it. My parents will be happy. They will share it with their community.”
The vast majority of Rangi speakers follow another major religion. But Donald now has hope. “This could be a turning point for my people,” he said.
Rangi is one of three languages in the Dodoma Cluster where local teams are working together to make God’s Word accessible. Working as a cluster allows the teams to share resources and collaborate in order to improve their translation drafts.
Your prayers and gifts will help the people of the Dodoma Cluster experience the life-changing power of God’s Word — in languages they clearly understand!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
