“That night Paul had a vision: A man from Macedonia in northern Greece was standing there, pleading with him, ‘Come over to Macedonia and help us!’” (Acts 16:9, NLT).
Like the man in Paul’s vision, the Mengaka people have asked for help. They want the New Testament in their language so they can grow in their faith and share the Good News with others.
In response, we are working with our local partner organization in Cameroon to translate God’s Word into Mengaka!
During this project, the team will translate and publish the Gospels of Mark and Luke. They will also work on six other New Testament books, preparing four of them to be checked by a consultant — a final step in the translation process.
Mengaka church leaders are eager for the written translation. “Their dream is to see the community transformed through God’s Word in their mother tongue,” said a project adviser.
Your prayers and investment will help make God’s Word available to the Mengaka people in language that speaks to their heart!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
