Translating New Testament portions into their language
“The New Testament in Samo Matya and Samo Maya will allow the Christian communities to become well-rooted in the living Word and become mature witnesses,” said a Northern San Cluster project adviser.
We are partnering with a local team that is translating New Testament portions into the Samo Matya and Samo Maya dialects!
In both languages, the project team will complete and publish Mark, Luke and 1-2 Peter. Because the community emphasizes oral communication,
they will record audio versions of Matthew, Mark and James. Hebrews will be published and recorded in Samo Maya, and Romans in Samo Matya.
Eight additional books will be checked with a consultant — the final step before they are ready for publication.
The local community has embraced the project and is eager to lead the translation efforts as much as possible.
Your prayers and investment will help bring God’s Word to the people of the Northern San Cluster!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
