Touching hearts through Scripture in their language
The Tugen women couldn’t believe it.
A speaker was reading a portion of the newly translated Tugen Gospel of Luke aloud at a Christian conference. For years the women had faithfully read the Bible in Kalenjin, a language used throughout the region. But now Scripture was touching their hearts like never before!
Hearing the message in their own language, rather than in Kalenjin, had brought the Word of God to life. In awe of the Tugen translation, the women purchased more than 50 copies of the book of Luke before heading home.
While the understanding of biblical truth is growing in the Tugen community, local church leaders continue to express the need for more of God’s Word.
During this three-year project, the translation team aims to produce 13 New Testament books, including Acts and Romans. They’ll also work on the book of Ruth from the Old Testament.
Your prayers and gifts will help the Tugen people access more Scripture in a language they clearly understand!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
