In San Pablo Yaganiza, cooperation is a way of life.
The town thrives off shared ownership. Everyone plays a part in maintaining cleanliness. They all keep the water clear and their streets spotless. A sense of unity permeates the community.
Sadly, Yaganiza Christians struggle to maintain that same collectivism with each other in the same way they do for the town. Congregants across multiple churches find themselves at odds, and personal conflicts between them are common. However they long for healed relationships.
In an effort to seek unity, a Yaganiza team has formed to translate portions of the Old Testament. In this project, they’ll complete the books of Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy.
Local church leaders believe God’s Word will address many of the problems they’re facing, and better equip them to reach out to non-Christians in the area.
Positive changes are already happening. Talk of this project has garnered enthusiasm among believers, even inspiring some to mend broken relationships.
But there’s still work to be done.
Your prayers and gifts will help the Yaganiza people experience Scripture in a language that speaks to their hearts!
Funds in excess of the current need will be applied to a similar project or to future needs within the same project.
