Scripture in Lory’s language is leading to communal change!

God is transforming lives and communities worldwide through Scripture in the languages and formats people clearly understand. Lory, (name and picture changed), who lives in Asia, is a powerful example of how God uses Bible translation to change lives.
Lory has a special routine: Every night before bed, he and his wife listen to Scripture in the language that speaks to their hearts. They play an audio passage and then discuss it together. Their children have also joined in their daily practice. The whole family now engages with God’s Word, and Lory is grateful for the powerful impact and encouragement of Scripture.
As a member of the local Bible translation team, Lory witnesses a similar transformation happening among others in his community. While traveling to another town, a group asked, “Please serve us with the Word of God in [our language].” Although they attended church, they struggled to fully understand Scripture because it was taught in the national language.
Lory shared recordings of the Book of Mark. Like his own family, the group listened intently and held deep discussions. They were captivated by God’s Word in their language. Lory met with them several more times, and their passion for Scripture grew with each visit.
“We are addicted and want to keep listening to God’s words,” they said.
Lory’s story is just one example of how God is moving through Bible translation. Around the globe, local churches and communities are expressing a desire for Scripture in their language and taking the lead in the translation movement.
