Annie, a Bible translator in Zambia, recently found encouragement while working through a passage in the Gospel of Luke.
In Luke 5, a group of friends was determined to bring their paralyzed friend to Jesus, but a crowd blocked their path. So they climbed onto the roof and lowered him down right in front of Jesus. “Seeing their faith, Jesus said to the man, ‘Young man, your sins are forgiven’” (Luke 5:20, NLT) and healed him.
As Annie worked through the story, she realized that forgiveness can be life-changing and that God often does miraculous things when His followers bring people to Him.
She sees that same hope in her translation team’s work. Together they are bringing people to Jesus through Scripture in Mukulu and trusting Him to transform lives.
After the miracle, the crowd responded “We have seen amazing things today!” (Luke 5:26b, NLT).
Annie carries those words of encouragement into every day and every challenge. She knows a committed team is working alongside her, including reviewers, churches and community members who are helping make Bible translation possible.
