For more than 80 years, Wycliffe and like-minded organizations have led efforts to advance Bible translation around the world. But today local churches are asking for — and sometimes even starting — Bible translation themselves. And they don’t want to wait for the work to start; they want to start it now. Local churches are playing a significant role in Bible translation for their own communities, and that’s accelerating the pace of the work.

As a result, the work is moving faster than ever. When you partner with Wycliffe, you help us continue saying “yes” to every community still needing Bible translation, working alongside them to see the work started, sustained and completed so that lives can be transformed by encountering Jesus personally through Scripture.

From January 1 - June 30 2026, 828,766 verses, 24,549 chapters and 1,431 books were completed. And as of July 1, 2026:

• Wycliffe USA is engaged in translation projects with more than 3,100 languages.
• Active projects are taking place in 169 countries and territories, with the potential to impact 2.1 billion people. 
• There are 535 known remaining languages that still need Bible translation to start for the first time.
