The Wycliffe Ministry of

Calvin and Hanh King

Calvin and Hanh worked in Cameroon, with the Cameroon Association for Bible Translation and Literacy (CABTAL). Calvin served as the chaplain at the Bamenda Training Center and Hanh served as linguist assisting the Mankon Bible Translation Team.

Calvin and Hanh are transitioning back to the United States and to a new work with Wycliffe USA.

Calvin is serving as a Career Guidance Counselor.

At first it may seem a strange need until we remember how we are all uniquely created. God has given us unique gifts, interests and abilities so that His work might go forth. He has a plan for everyone as individual members of the body of Christ. However, many are unaware of their gifts or of the many possibilities for using those gifts. As a Career Guidance Counselor Calvin will focus on helping people discover their gifts and apply them to the role within Wycliffe for which God has created them.

Hanh is working with the Ethnologue Department as a research assistant.

Wycliffe’s vision is to see a translation of the Bible started in every language that needs it by the year 2025. As of now, there are still over 1600 languages that do not have even one word of Scripture. Hanh’s role will be to research those languages to see which ones need a translation program started.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to this account directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.
