For 15 years, Randy lived and worked in the west African country of Ivory Coast where he helped translate the New Testament into the Jula language. In February 2014 he had the privilege of attending the dedication of the entire Bible in this language. He is now based in Dallas where he is an editor and author of the Translator's Notes: a series of commentaries/translation manuals for national Bible translators. In addition, he spends three months of the year in Nigeria where he gives translation consulting help to two translation teams: the Dadiya and Marghi translation teams. The Dadiya New Testament was printed and dedicated in November 2024. The Marghi New Testament is now ready to be printed. Randy also helps mentor people to do the type of translation work that he is doing.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
