Larry & Jan Allen

Larry and Jan were involved in a translation project among the Kankanaey people in the northern Philippines for 30 years. They worked closely with church leaders, producing a New Testament with 42% of the Old Testament, including complete Psalms and Proverbs, along with a hymnbook of 237 hymns. The Allens currently reside at the International Linguistics Center in Dallas, TX. Larry serves as author and editor of Translator’s Notes, an ESL-friendly commentary for translators. Jan teaches linguistics at Dallas International University. Many of her students plan to serve in ministries related to linguistics and Bible translation.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.

Launch Expense Account

Wycliffe establishes the Launch Expense Account for setup needs beyond recurring ministry and living expenses.

Examples of what these funds cover are training and orientation courses, airfare, visas, immunizations, language learning, work permits, house setup, vehicle, equipment purchases, shipping, etc.
