There are currently 7,391 known living languages in the world. Of these, over 4,400 languages have some level of Bible translation work in progress, while another 561 languages are still waiting for translation efforts to begin. Bible translation is essential not only for providing written Scriptures but also for addressing the deepest needs of communities. By enabling people to access education and engage with Scripture in the language they value most, Bible translation helps individuals and communities flourish.

 

Tim and Tara are committed to advancing this mission through their assignments with SIL Global, a strategic partner organization of Wycliffe. Tim serves as a Reporting Analyst, playing a key role on the team responsible for analyzing and presenting data to leadership about SIL’s work worldwide. Tara holds the position of Senior Director for People Systems Strategies within SIL’s People, Community, and Culture Team. In this capacity, she provides strategic leadership to HR staff around the globe, guiding policies, systems, and training. Her extensive experience working in HR overseas, combined with her passion for Bible translation, enables her to effectively connect with and support staff and leaders across the organization.
