Thank you for your interest in the Gebauer translation ministry. The Areare people of the Solomon Islands have been without the Bible for too long. The people themselves have a strong desire to change that, having experienced the difficulty of trying to understand the Bible in another language. They are the second largest people group in the Solomons, with approximately 25,000 speakers. The Solomon Islands Christian Association sees this translation program as a priority and has invited the Gebauers to help. The Gebauer family is happy to be in the Solomon Islands, and they invite you to join with them as ministry partners in seeing God's word in the Areare language.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.

Launch Expense Account

Wycliffe establishes the Launch Expense Account for setup needs beyond recurring ministry and living expenses.

Examples of what these funds cover are training and orientation courses, airfare, visas, immunizations, language learning, work permits, house setup, vehicle, equipment purchases, shipping, etc.
