Mark & Cheryl Sjoblom | Wycliffe Bible Translators
The Wycliffe Ministry of

Mark & Cheryl Sjoblom

For 24 years, Mark and Cheryl supported Bible translation in Papua, Indonesia. Mark maintained the YAJASI fleet of airplanes, managed the maintenance department, supervised the building of a new hangar and took on several community services at different times during those years. Cheryl taught math in Hillcrest International School most of those years and sometimes taught drama.

Now, Mark has been asked to serve as an Assistant Director of Aviation focusing primarily on strategy and vision. The goal is to use Mark’s training, experience, and skills to bring focused attention on developing and growing the Aviation Department’s service strategy, assessing and evaluating our staffing models and capacity, as well as helping to develop operational policy and procedures. As we look at serving the transportation needs of the church and Bible Translation, in a rapidly changing world, it is vital that we maintain an appropriate and relevant strategy.

Cheryl is helping Wycliffe USA members with the many financial issues of understanding and following Wycliffe’s policies and IRS policies for non-profit organizations. Cheryl’s overseas and math teaching experiences have fitted her, with God-designed fine-tuning, for this position which combines member care and financial policies. Currently, she is in training for a leadership role as Lead Human Resources Financial Liaison.

Would you please prayerfully consider investing in Bible translation by becoming a prayer and financial partner in their Wycliffe ministry?

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.
