Steve and Tina Walker

Steve and Mary Lou Walker lived and worked in Papua New Guinea for nearly 25 years where they also raised their four children. They supported Bible translation through teaching missionary and national children, and in a variety of Ukarumpa center services. When Mary Lou passed away in 2011 Steve relocated to Waxhaw, NC where he became involved in processing new Wycliffe applicants and finding the best assignment for them. In 2018 the Lord brought a companion into his life in response to his prayers and hers. They were married in June 2019 and live in Columbia, SC where Steve continues to mobilize new Wycliffe workers and Tina trains ESL teachers at a Christian university. They are involved in casting vision and awareness of the remaining translation needs of the bibleless peoples around the world.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.

Launch Expense Account

Wycliffe establishes the Launch Expense Account for setup needs beyond recurring ministry and living expenses.

Examples of what these funds cover are training and orientation courses, airfare, visas, immunizations, language learning, work permits, house setup, vehicle, equipment purchases, shipping, etc.
