Dave & Deb Barton

Dave and Deb are currently serving in Papua New Guinea where they have been working since 1999. After flying and filling aviation roles for many years, Dave has taken the role of Director for the Bible translation work in Papua New Guinea. As Director, he is responsible for leading a multicultural team of personnel who facilitate the Wycliffe Bible translation efforts throughout the country.

Deb supervises a lunch bar that serves the Ukarumpa community on weekdays, providing a hot lunch and refreshments for mission workers and locals alike. She is also managing the Teen Centre which provides work experience to teenage community members and is a venue for a variety of community events.

James (21) is serving with the US Air Force in Germany. He is stationed at Ramstein AFB and is working in the air terminal with cargo and passengers. Josiah (17) is a Junior at Ukarumpa International School.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its missionaries to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts missionaries’ ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the missionaries receive as “take-home pay” for their daily living expenses.

Launch Expense Account

Wycliffe establishes the Launch Expense Account for setup needs beyond recurring ministry and living expenses.

Examples of what these funds cover are training and orientation courses, airfare, visas, immunizations, language learning, work permits, house setup, vehicle, equipment purchases, shipping, etc.
