It takes a wide range of people and skills to make Bible translation happen. From linguists to aviators, to human resources, to teachers, to communications personnel, every role is vital to the effort.

After their first term in Papua New Guinea was cut short due to medical complications, Luke and Noelle Garvey, along with their daughters Meleia and Alaina, have been serving from Dallas, TX, supporting the global work of Bible translation and holistic language development. As Wycliffe missionaries, Luke has been seconded to serve in Global Marketing and Communications with SIL Global, the primary field partner of Wycliffe.

The Garveys are now preparing to relocate to Nairobi, Kenya, which will serve as their ministry base for the coming season. From Nairobi, they will continue supporting SIL’s global work while also engaging more closely with teams and partners across Africa, one of the most linguistically diverse and strategically significant regions for Bible translation and language development.
