THE WYCLIFFE MINISTRY OF

John E

John E

John’s call began as a teenager by seeing the impact of Wycliffe's ministry on lives in a remote village in Papua New Guinea. He joined Wycliffe in 1998 as a language surveyor, serving in various countries of South and Southeast Asia. For the past 12 years John has been a senior leader, guiding survey work globally and for the Asia-Pacific region.

Language survey is research and community engagement to assess needs for Bible translation and language development. Over 7,400 languages are spoken today, yet nearly 1,000 still require assessment of those needs. Survey also informs the ways projects can be done most effectively, ensuring that they may be used by as many as possible.

God brought John and his wife K together in marriage in 2017, now joined by their sons. They are based in Texas, as John serves remotely in these leadership roles and travels often.

Wycliffe Ministry Budget

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.

This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
