Kari is serving with Wycliffe as a Vernacular Media Specialist. She helps facilitate Scripture access and use through media production and training. She is excited to be able to use her interests and background in media, technology, Spanish, and education in her role as a media specialist. 

 

Kari has served in Guatemala since 2017 and is currently working with Viña Association as the dubbing coordinator for “Deditos” — a video series for kids based on stories from the Old Testament. The series is being produced in Guatemala and is dubbed into languages around the world. Previously, Kari planned and produced a children’s TV series in a local Mayan language called Kaqchikel. This series, “Adventures with Deditos,” provides biblical teaching for Guatemalan children through videos made available online and on cable television. 

 

In 2024 Kari married Sergio Gonzalez, the pastor of a small local church. They both have a deep desire to see the people of Guatemala transformed by the Word of God.
