Ramón and Deborah Padilla serve among diaspora communities in Canada—people who have displaced or migrated from their homelands. With a heart for Bible engagement, they are connecting churches, ministries, and lay people to Scripture resources in the highly diverse Greater Toronto Area and across Canada.

Building on 10 years of Bible Translation ministry with Zapotec translators in Oaxaca, Mexico, Ramón and Deborah now focus on fostering deep connections with God through Bible-based tools and training. They multiply Bible-based trauma healing resources, translated materials, evangelism and discipleship methods, and more. Their passion for working with minority language speakers continues, whether by connecting people to existing Scripture resources or helping build capacity for new translations.

Ramón devotes his efforts to connecting people with the most relevant Scripture resources already available and/or helping build capacity for those to be produced–the resources that would connect best with the audience of outreach. Deborah uses her teaching, communication, and research skills to help develop and resource others with strategic ways to connect language communities living outside their home countries with a deeper relationship with God. Most recently, they are focusing on Caring for Wounded Hearts, a Bible-based program fostering strong mental health and safe, connected communities using the oral resources from the Trauma Healing Institute. They aim to disciple least-reached people groups and multiply this program among volunteers and leaders reaching out to refugees and people of other faith backgrounds.
