Peter and Megan Gardner joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 2018. From 2019 to 2025 they served in South Africa where Peter worked in literacy and communications, developing curriculum into local languages. In 2025, the Gardners had to return to the States suddenly for their son to have life-saving open heart surgery at birth. Though they need to stay in the States for Nicholas' continued care, God has opened a door to allow Peter to continue serving in Wycliffe. He will be utilizing his Education background to teach ESL remotely to Bible translators around the world, equipping them to collaborate more effectively.

 

God has been preparing Peter and Megan for missions from a young age. Peter grew up in the Pacific Northwest and also Taiwan, where his family served at a missionary school. Peter studied at Multnomah Bible College and Whitworth University. Megan grew up in Niger, where her parents served with SIM, and also in Alberta, Canada. She studied at Westminster Choir College in New Jersey, before meeting Peter (on eHarmony!) and moving to Washington state. Peter and Megan were married in 2012 and made their home in Auburn, Washington, where they had their first three children, and Peter taught elementary school in the extremely diverse Kent School District. They are members of a church in Kent, Washington and now reside in Auburn again.

 

Peter and Megan are thankful for the privilege of being part of the global missions movement, and wherever they are, they seek to worship God and love their neighbor. They are grateful to Jesus Christ for what he has done in their lives, and they love to see what he is doing in the lives of others. They love serving the local church through teaching Sunday School.
