Clay and Bev Strom arrived in Colombia to work with the Tanimuca-Letuama people in April of 1982. They produced a grammar and phonology of the Tanimuca-Letuama language, then an alphabet, literacy books and primers. They were also involved in developing teacher training and establishing bilingual schools in three villages. The “JESUS” film, the “Genesis” video and the “God’s Story: From Creation to Eternity” video were dubbed in the language and distributed along with audiovisual equipment. New Testament books and a panorama of the Old Testament were distributed in written and audio form. Additionally, the Stroms helped with community development projects, including water well drilling, various self-sustaining projects and medical training. They also assisted in training, mentoring and supporting national missionaries. Following their return to the U.S. from Colombia in 2019, Clay contributed to Translator’s Notes in Spanish, a verse-by-verse commentary geared specifically for local Bible translators. The Stroms retired in June of 2025 and live in Waxahachie, TX.

Wycliffe establishes a Ministry Budget for its members to reflect recurring expenses related to family factors and their geographic location of service. Giving to Wycliffe directly impacts members' ability to begin and remain in their assignment.
This monthly budget covers ministry-related expenses, insurance and retirement, social security and taxes, and Wycliffe administrative costs. The remainder is what the members receive as "take-home pay" for their daily living expenses.
