Andrew Wheaton & Kelly Pastene

Since 2013, Andrew and Kelly have served together alongside their sending organization, Wycliffe Bible Translators USA (Wycliffe), to support strategic Bible translation projects across the Americas. Chile remains central to their story as both the foundation of their ministry and the place where they met and married. Their passion for God’s Word among minority language communities began years earlier, when Kelly first started working with a national Bible translation organization in Chile in 2006. Andrew joined her there in 2011, and together they filled various leadership roles, eventually guiding the organization as executive directors through 2019.

Today, Andrew and Kelly serve as Wycliffe shared staff assigned to their receiving organization, SIL. For nearly 100 years, SIL has served language communities worldwide through Bible translation, research, literacy, and language development. In their present capacity, Andrew and Kelly strengthen Bible translation leaders through Human Resources and Spiritual Life teams (SIL) across the Americas. They have also collaborated with the Jesus Film Project team (Cru) since 2023 to help deliver the Gospel to the indigenous Mapuche people of Chile in their own language.
