One of Wycliffe’s partners in Nigeria has an initiative to raise up Nigerian Missionaries who seek financial support from the Nigerian Church in order to participate in a variety of roles within the Bible Translation movement. It takes a lot of courage for those staff to participate in such a challenging initiative and our partner is pursuing multiple strategies to assist them. These strategies include personal fundraising through personal relationships and corporate fundraising targeting Nigerian denominations, churches and individuals.

The long-term goal is to develop more sustainable support for national staff to serve as career staff or missionaries within the Bible translation movement in Nigeria. 

This diversified approach has resulted in consistent support coming in, however, it is not yet able to cover the full needs of these 22 dedicated staff.  Each contribution made to this fund makes a big difference by enabling those with less than 100% of their ministry support to receive additional needing funding.
