The Adzera Translation Project seeks to meet the Bible translation, literacy, and Scripture access needs of the estimated 50,000 people who speak the Adzera language in the Markham Valley of Papua New Guinea (PNG). David and Susan Howard have worked with the Adzera people since 1999. David works as a translation advisor to a team of Adzera speakers who translate the Bible into their own language. Susan works with Adzera speakers to develop books and teaching materials in the Adzera language to promote literacy and teaches literacy and fluency classes using translated Scripture portions, Bible story books, and other materials. They work together with their team to make the translated Adzera Scriptures accessible to as many Adzera speakers as possible.
This project aims to facilitate Bible translation, literacy, and use of the Adzera Scriptures by meeting the costs associated with working together with a team of Adzera people, publication of translated Scriptures and materials in various media to encourage literacy and Scripture use, and the costs of keeping the Nan Adzera Resource Centre running and equipped for the work. Our goal is that the Adzera people will be transformed positively by God’s word in the language that speaks best to their hearts.
Thank you for considering partnering in Bible translation with Wycliffe through your financial and prayer partnership of the Adzera Translation Project.
