The Ayutla Mixtec New Testament was published, recorded and celebrated in 2017. Since a little before then, work has been on-going on the Old Testament. So far fourteen Old Testament books have been translated and recorded and are on the Play Store app. Five other books in various stages of revision. The New Testament books and these fourteen Old Testament books are on the Megavoice solar powered audio players. Over 600 Megavoice players have been distributed and have been extremely well received. A major goal of this project is to distribute more Megavoice players to villages. There is an App downloadable from the Play Store called Ayutla Mixtec Bible, which has all the New Testament books, as well as the Old Testament books that have been recorded. These and other materials are also available at ScriptureEarth.org.

The Ayutla Mixtec language community is made up of approximately 10,000 speakers with a least 2000+ being monolingual. They live in 35 villages in and around the municipality of Ayutla, Guerrero. The translation team is a made up of two translators. These men have at least 15 years of experience translating, and produce drafts of high quality. They have been to many workshops and are essential for the recordings and distribution of the Ayutla Mixtec Scripture. When books are drafted, revised and checked over again, they invite people from different villages to listen to the translation, ask them questions and revise the text some more. Consultant-in-residence, John Williams, does a consultant check of the book, and once that is finished and more revisions and checks are done, the books are recorded.

Thank you for considering partnering in Bible translation with Wycliffe through your financial and prayer partnership of the Ayutla Mixtec Old Testament project. The need is great and there is very high enthusiasm for the project amongst the people and the local churches.
